In the September 13, 2010 edition of Hello! Canada, there was a mistake in the Cheddar Loonies recipe. The amount of butter in the recipe is 1 cup. Here is the recipe in full – enjoy the Loonies!

Cheddar Loonies
Makes 4 dozen

2 ½ cups all purpose flour
1 ½ tsp fine sea salt
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
1 cup butter, at room temperature
2 cups shredded sharp Canadian cheddar cheese
2 tsp finely chopped fresh thyme

1. Sift together the flour, salt and cayenne pepper in a medium-sized bowl. Cream the butter for 2 minutes in the bowl of a stand mixer. Mix in the shredded cheese and thyme. Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture. Mix on low speed until the dough comes together.
2. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently. Form the dough into a disc, then divide in half. Roll each half into a cylinder slightly larger than 1 inch in diameter. (Loonies are slightly larger than 1 inch in diameter.) Wrap each cylinder in parchment paper.
3. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour and up to 24 hours.
4. Preheat the oven to 350F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Slice the dough into ¼-inch loonies. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Cool the loonies on a baking rack. Serve warm or at room temperature.
